Henderson was a manufacturer of 4-cylinder motorcycles from 1912 until 1931. They were the largest and fastest motorcycles of their time, [citation needed] and appealed to both sport riders and police departments. Police favored them for traffic patrol because they were faster than anything else on the roads.

The second motorcycle in our series, Henderson Streamliner, is based on a 1930 Henderson Streamline KJ model and was manually modified by Mr. Orley Ray Courtney. Although unknown outside of classic motorcycle circles, Mr. Courtney was a remarkable sheet metal craftsman.

The Henderson Model K series was launched in 1920 featuring electric lighting and a fully-enclosed chain. Released in 1929, the KJ model acquired the 'Streamline' name because of the graceful lines of the fuel tank and mudguards. It featured a double-downtube cradle frame with leading-link front forks and had an illuminated speedometer set into the fuel tank. The KJ was produced from 1929.
