Social Contract Theory
Hobbes argues in the social contract theory that all humans, by nature, have equal faculties of the body and the mind. There are no "natural" inequalities that are so great that an individual human would be able to claim an exclusive benefit. Because of this equality, everyone is willing to fight one another.

Abstract. Hobbes's two contract theories as found in Leviathan and the Dialogue are discussed. Hobbes is normally interpreted as holding only one type of contract theory: a hypothetical social contract theory. But he is shown to be best interpreted to be advancing an actual constitutional contract theory as well.
